does any body know any tricks to being able to find spot welds when removing panels some are hard to see where there at i'm getting ready to remove the rear window panel soon.

If you cant see or feel the welds you can pry the two pieces of metal apart a little at a time and you will then see where the welds are.

If you can, get a sander in there and sand the area down abit and because the spot weld is a depression, it will show up. Also, for the most part, they are somewhat evenly spaced so once you find several, see how far apart they are and you should be in the ball park for the next one.

I recently replaced mine, I cut the panel out alone the welded area to expose the spots.Once the old panel was out,I could see the welds easily.

Even a piece of 80 grit paper with your hand can help a lot. Use it like a block to find the "low" spots (welds). Also, I find that if I scrub both sides with a red scuff pad first it is much easier also. I then can "pinch" the metal with my index finger and thumb, much like the welder did at the factory and then I can feel both sides at one time. If you can't see the weld on the top, many times you can on the underside and your thumb will feel it very easy. http://www.camaros.net/forum/smile.gif
