There are not many 69 camaro's here in Longview, so to my surprise when I was reading yesterdays paper to see an story and a picture of a burnt up 69 z28. It is arson and the police are looking for the jerk off who did this. I would say the owner, who looked to be in his late 40's ticked someone off. It was a fully restored car. There were a couple other classics in the driveway as well as a 07 suburban. I keep my under lock and key inside.....I thought of calling and asking if it was for sale, but I thought that might make me a suspect! By looking at the pictures, they got it out fiarly quick, someone walked outside at about 1 in the morning and saw it burning, so it just looks like it is the interior and wiring. I guess he was lucky...

Might be worth calling and making an offer! I've fixed a couple burnt vehicles (usually fuel line popping off). None of them were nearly as valuable as a 1st gen. Assume the wiring, interior are gone. Best to replace all gaskets and bushings. From the sounds of it, the core parts should be in repairable condition!
I will warn you, it is a mess working on burnt vehicles. You might as well be cleaning Chimneys for a living. You will be caked in soot, and it does not come off easily. I don't even disassemble in the garage, they are a major mess, and usually smell like burnt plastic very strongly.
With the value of these cars, a light fire, and the option of nearly everything you need available aftermarket, it may be a diamond in the rough.
