I was finally able to pressure wash the underneath of my '67 RS yesterday. After all the oil and grease got knocked off, the rear end and frame were orange. I cleaned up the front of the car a little also and the shocks where orange up there also.
Was this something the previous owner did? Or something the factory did?
Thanks

That was something a previous owner had done. Mine was, and still has some overspray, that was pink!

At least it is a mod that can easily be changed back to factory. I had a Pontiac with a yellow rear end and control arms back in the 80's.
It is now back in black...

Since Orange was not a standard color until 69, someone must have liked it for their 67. My 69 12 bolt was painted purple!!
Note that many had body color overspray on the outside part of the underside of the body, as well as in the rear wheel well opening and on the framerail. When I removed the original undercoat in the rear wheel well opening, I found a light covering of the original body color.
