What is the difference? THeir website says that the treemaster is for "FOOTBRAKE" and the MRT is for transbrake, can I use the Treemaster for transbrake, its an extra $100 for the MRT.

Bob at ATI insists that I have to run the MRT, quite rude about it actually, please someone tell me if you are running an MRT or not with a Transbrake.

the difference is footbrake converters have more free speed .basically ,less throttle produces more flash.besides ,why argue with someone YOU called for assistance?:confused:ive always ran ati products and never received a converter that was off of what was promised.a brake puts alot of heat and strain on internals of a converter .ever see a converter explosion ?not pretty!

First of all I wasnt arguing with anyone, I was simply asking if anyone has ran or does run a Treemaster converter in their car with a transbrake instead of the MRT. Secondly yes I have seen a converter explosion but I also know that I have ran a cheapo TSI 10 inch converter for 3 years 2days 2 classes a weekend going an average of 10 passes per day per class with a transbrake that I have never had out of the car, that doesnt have all the bells and whistles the ATI says it has, which is why I asked the question in the first place, is it worth the extra $175 I will have to pay for the MRT Vs. The Treemaster when I obviously am not making the power some of you are only running 7.50-60's in the 1/8th mile.

whoa now lol:thumbsup: im not saying you were screamin at each other .im just saying that when a consumer is asking a vendor ,machinist ,etc ,a question, then they should listen to what they have to say is all .and also understand that there trying to give you what will work best for your application;)good luck

I talked to Art and he recommended # 20504 8 inch 45-4800 stall. He said the 60 should pick up quite a bit as long as the suspension would handle it.

Cool. I would tend to agree!

Let us know how it turns out, I am curious to know how much it picks up over the old converter.

ericsz,

Good Choice!

'Ole BOB argued with me as well...... and I DO mean argued (regarding a repair/restall) and I own/have owned an ATI converter for 8+ years and have spent several thousand dollars on ATI products.

Coan converters for me from now on.
