I am in need of doing body shims for my new fenders. The problem is that the old shims are no longer there. Does anyone have the measurements of the shims from the factory so that I can have a strong starting point. :eek:

These cars were mass produced in the 60's and that's why shims are necessary to get the body alignment correct. Every car is different, some don't need any shims in places, but require 1/2" or more in others.

I've found that if I'm getting up to a 1/2" or so of shims on any particular bolt that there might be something wrong with the panel or, I should be adjusting the adjacent panel for a little bit better fit.
