: Another Newbie in Florida
orocker Jul 20th, 07, 09:26 PM Hello everyone....names Holly and I live here in Casselberry, FL. A 67 was my 1st car and I just had to have one again. So I just bought myself a 69 that I am going to restore. Don't have a clue but I am ready to get my hands dirty & I'm sure this site will help alot. One thing I have going for me is my car fanatic hubby who knows alot about cars which I can learn alot from. We got a great deal on this car and will start tearing it apart this sept.

SuperSquid Jul 21st, 07, 08:15 PM I decided I better join so I can keep her from talking bad about me in the future as she delves into tearing the car apart.
There's a good amount of work to do but at least the basics are pretty good on this car. It should be fun tearing it down to individual pieces and then reassembling it.
ProdigyCustoms Jul 22nd, 07, 06:14 PM Welcome to the best Camaro site anywhere. And it is so cool to hear about another women interested in cars. We are only 10 minutes away in Apopka, and specialize in Camaros and parts (we have 9 Camaros / Firebirds in the shop right now). After 22 years of watching me build cars, my wife is also building a car now also, so maybe you girls can talk.
If you need anything at all, feel free to call, advice and recomendations are free.
SuperSquid Jul 22nd, 07, 09:05 PM Too bad the vintage air isn't free....But we do need to buy one and some other parts that I'm sure you can supply.
We'll know more when we get into tearing it apart. We're gonna try to do most of the work on it up until the paint goes on.
ProdigyCustoms Jul 22nd, 07, 09:57 PM We are actually finishing a install on a new Gen I unit is a 69 as we speak. I stock Vintage Air systems
Give me a call and stop by sometime. It is a real candy store right now.

DougP Jul 23rd, 07, 06:19 AM The car looks very similar to what I started with -- in any event, congratualtions and good luck with your project
click Jul 23rd, 07, 07:31 AM That will be a fun project with 2 working on it :) congrats on the 69 and welcome to Team Camaro. I have a cousin that lives in Casselberry, might have to visit him someday to see your car ;)
orocker Jul 23rd, 07, 08:45 PM Right on! Thanks showing a new chick on the block some luv and welcome. I am really getting into this & eager to learn. When this whole thing started I was just going to by one already fixed up but a friend up north who is restoring one himself really got me into it and what to look for when we went a hunting for one. 2 PO have let it sit for years and nothing much has been done to it. Hoping to find some original engine parts but who knows. There is barely any rust on it seems to be very few bondo spots that we can tell.
Prodigy sounds like a plan. I have watched my husband & his friends work on their cars and do lots of engine swaps, brake jobs and you name it. I guess you could say that I have been bitten by a big car bug. Will definitely have to get together with the wife.
Blade Jul 24th, 07, 08:22 AM welcome. good luck and have fun
