why can't i get a thumbnail to show ? :(

Save the photo into your 'My Photgraphs' folder - go to your post and click the Attachments icon - in the tile that pops up hit 'browse' and go find it in you photos - double click on it - go back to tile and click on 'Upload', it will appear in the lower 'Upload from URL' box - click attach - close tile and go back to post and click on 'Attachments' icon again and you will see it listed as an attachment there now - click on it to attach to your post ...

I'm sure there is some 'super-dupper-wizz-bang' way to do this another easier way - but, this works for me :D
