want to help me finish installing my new TCI trans? My poor car (1969 Camaro) has been on jack stands for the entire summer! The trans is in place- only two more bolts to tighten. I still need to tighten two bellhousing bolts, get the drive shaft installed, fabricate two aluminum mounting brackets, mount the trans cooler, hook up linkage, and test it all out. I am eager to get out to a few cruise nights. I'll supply the beer and food if any skilled and willing person could help me out for a few hours. I have a 9-month-old and am only able to get car time in couple-hour increments since being dad takes precedence over being gearhead. Thanks for hearing my desperate plea! I live by Rt. 59 and North Avenue (Wheaton-St. Charles area) by the way!

I may be able to help also. Sunday afternoon is possible for a couple of hours. Are the brackets for the trans cooler? Do you have all the neccesary parts? Please let me know asap as I don't have a whole lot of time. Thanx!

Thanks guys. You are awesome! I was at a family reunion in Wisconsin this weekend (yes, yet another event keeping me away from my garage). At any rate, if either of you or both could give me about three hours of time, I'd be super appreciative and I'd finally get out to a cruise night! I made some progress here and there. Last week, I installed the new starter, wrapped it with heat shield, drilled my flywheel so the huge torq converter bolts would pass through it, changed the oil while it is up on stands, intalled the headers with new gasgets, and mocked up a template for the trans cooler. I do have all of the parts and tools to get the rest of the job done. Here is what's left;

- fabricate that bracket from 1/4 inch aluminum stock
- assemble the u-joints and install drive shaft
- get those last two trans housing bolts tightened
- add tranny fluid and test her out

Send me an email if you guys have any time. If you are too busy, I know the feeling. I am afraid that my wife is going to start pushing for me to sell the car since I haven't been able to enjoy it at all this summer. Thanks for your willingness to help out a fellow Chevy freak,
