I'm looking for header info for a 69 with a 572 crate motor. Does anybody know which headers will work? Thank you in advance

I don't have the answer you are looking for, but the 572 is a tall deck engine. There are a lot of cars out there with tall deck blocks in them, so I'm sure someone makes a header to fit that application. Talk to your local speed shop or Summit/JEGS/etc.

Your 572 GM crate motor is a tall deck using Edelbrock Performer heads that have a thicker than stock deck (0.100" thick). This requires slightly longer springs which are already installed and it moves your exhaust ports up that additional 0.100". Good news is the ports are in the stock location (not raised 0.300" like some heads) so header fitment will not be as bad.

Lemmons sells headers custom made to your needs sitting on the shelf ready to ship. Hooker Competition Plus headers will also fit but they have no provision for an exhaust system so you will have to weld the tubes together (they are a slip fit now) and add a flange to bolt on an exhaust pipe. None of them are cheap and they are all made of thin, light gauge metal designed for racing (large tube diameter, which helps at your displacement). After you get them welded up and ready to install I would have them Jet coated to preserve your investment.

Stainless Works made the headers for our "King Ray" project car (572 in a '67 Corvette). :)
