There is no strict guideline on the inspection markings. They were inconsistent from one car to the next. Some might be similar to those that have been found on other cars, while others will be completely different.

Im careful when cleaning the parts, and document and take pics of what I find. I only put back what I find, and sometimes it is nothing.

Here are two assembled sets of spindles of the last two 69Zs Ive done. As you can see, they are both very different. But they are the marks that were there originally.

I havent seen two sets of markings that are identical, and only one car (69 Judge) have I seen where they are nearly identical from one side to the other.

Also keep in mind that no inspection markings were done on the assembly line. They were marked by the component manufacturers to signify that they had passed the strength tests

There is really not much to it. Ive used One Shot sign lettering paint, as well as the Quanta products sold by many of the resto parts suppliers.

Good products, but the prices of those seemed a bit high to me considering one bottle will last you several lifetimes worth of restos. I just went to wal-mart and picked up half a dozen or so small jars of basic colors in the arts/crafts area for around $2 each.
