I have a 95 Z28 with a stock 350. After running for just a few minutes, the fan will kick on and the check engine light will come on. The car is not overheating. Then after a little bit the fan shuts off and so does the check engine light. Any suggestions on what to check?

coolant temp sensor...does the car run lean???maybe feels like it isnt running really strong just before the light comes on???i`d prolly get it scanned for sure, but my best guess is the cts...

Runs fine until fan kicks on and then it doesn't run as strong. Will give the cts a try. Thanks.

Before you throw parts at it, go to autozone and use their scanner for free. If the light came on, there will be a code.

Tried the cts and that didn't solve it. I didn't realize Autozone did that. I'll give them a try. Thanks.
