i have a 92 camaro rs 305 and the cooling fan had locked up so i put another motor in and test it and it worked by straight wiring but would'ntcome on when it ran a high temp like it should. i think i need a relay or a fan temp switch but i need to know where both sensors are.thanks

Please keep in mind that third gen fans do not come an until about 220 or 225 degrees. I had a 1984 Z28 with a 5.0L H.O. (305) and that thing always ran between 220-225. That is the way GM engineered them. Granted that car did not have as much electronics on it as your 1992 RS.

There is alot of good stuff on third gen.org....What I would do is get a meat thermometer like one stuck into the side of a turkey, chicken, or any other animal that is being cooked or barbecued. Put that thing into the side of your radiator just over the cooling fins like I did when I instaled my Flex-a-Lite (FLX-180) Black magic Extreme fan into my 1969 Camaro. This will tell you about what temperature your fan comes on. Many guys with third gen's freak out when their car runs between 220-225. Trust me this is perfectly normal for these cars. GM designed them all that way.
Good Luck and let us know if you have any more questions.
