Hello all
first post
I have been reading for a while love this forum
I have a three spoke steering wheel looks very much like standard interior except the center insert is removable and has two horn buttons.
I read some where of an early 67 wheel with horn buttons
Part number on insert is 9745922
Part number on horn buttons 9746413

With out seeing it, sounds like a 1968 camaro deluxe wheel. Which was also used on 1968 chevelles.

This one, right?

1967 Camaro N30 Deluxe Wheel. Fairly rare. (I've always liked that wheel.)

Yup. In 1967 only 30,967 cars received the N30 Deluxe Steering Wheel. Not "extremely" rare, but it comes out to about 7 percent of the total production.

Is the standard wheel, the N30 you note , and the deluxe interior wheel(the one with the chrome insert,no buttons) all the same basic wheel with the inserts being changed? To clarify, if I have a standard 67 wheel, will the chrome insert or the N30 fit that wheel or are the wheels all specific to the inserts?
I need a stock wheel for a 67, prefer a deluxe type, which until you mentioned N30, i thought was limited to a polished chrome insert, no buttons style.
All combos show on Ebay; wheels no inserts, inserts alone, 67,68, standard wheels, deluxe with corroded inserts, etc. What are my mix and match compatability options?
Thanks

Joe, the answer is yes and no!

The 67 steering wheel itself is basically the same between the "standard" wheel, the Deluxe Interior (Z87) wheel and the N30 wheel. HOWEVER, the Deluxe wheel and the N30 wheel have three holes in the perimeter of the spokes to retain the shroud. The "standard" wheel doesn't have these holes.

I'm not sure if you could drill holes in the standard wheel to accept the shroud, but it seems like you could.

Anyone ever done this??

Thanks for the reply. This gives me more options to consider/pursue. I just missed a N30 shroud on ebay!
Thanks again,
Joe
