With drum rear brakes, is there any way to replace the rear parking brake cable without dissembling the brakes? It seems so stupid to have to break everything down but I can’t figure out any other way.
Thanks

It can be a beetch to push in the prongs that hold the cable housing to the backing plate to release it, easier with the shoes and hardware out of the way.

Plus, you have to twist and tug to get the cable end "dog-knot" out and back in the e-brake spreader piece!!
Like Jim said, not fun at all!!

PS., AND ONLY DO ONE SIDE AT A TIME!! So's if you forget what goes where you can look at the other side for a model!!!
