Hey Al I tried to email you guys but my email bounced back. I wanted to find out if anyone in your club knows anything about the dealership that you guys meet at. I live in canada and it turns out my car was purchased there new when it had another name. Adress is the same. I emailed the dealer and they said someone would get back to me if I gave them the VIN, but so far no such luck. Just thought I would take a chance since you guys must know the lay of the land. I don`t even know the way to San Jose.

Mike - I'm a short timer in San Jose (10 Years) and have been a member of Camaros Limited since we started meeting at Sunnyvale Chevrolet. It was called Raines Chevrolet then. We have a meeting this Friday, I'll ask around... How did you get an address but no dealership name? I assume that is what you are looking for.

Is there a Hugger Orange '69 Z/28-RS in the San Jose club?
I sold one to Jim Dyer in 1989.

William - there might be but I can't say for sure... If Dyer still has it I believe he's a member of the Camaro Generations based in Sacramento.
Steve Pardini owns a survivor Hugger RS Z... Could that be the one? http://www.stevescamaroparts.com/steves_survivor__camaro.html

Nope; car was a driver with non-OE DZ. Dyer sold it in 1990 or so.
A twin to Steves though.

Looked through our DB and we had 1 hugger '69 Z with white interior. The owner has been inactive since '99 though...

Hi Dave You are correct it was Raines back then. I have my protecto plate. I am just curious what kind of records might be kicking around like factory invoices, bill of sale. pictures of the cars perhaps pictures of the dealership in 68? The saleman who sold the car? Since I bought the car from the original owner I am looking to get as much documentation on the car as possible. Thanks for anything you can find out.

My mistake, Courtesy Chevrolet is on Stevens Creek in San Jose, Raines Chevrolet was in Sunnyvale.
David
the club use to meet at Courtesy a bunch of years ago. We found Raines when Courtesy was between the old building and new and didn't have room for us.
I honestly didn't know Raines went back that far, they were one of those dealerships that marked up every car on the lot and didn't sell below MSRP on anything. The mgnt was cool with the club but the evening sales guys use to close up early on Fri nights and kept telling our members the boss was going to tell us we wern't welcome any longer... Sunnyvale mgnt and style is way different, no commision sales and they stay open much later on Fridays. They also don't haggle on cars, priced as posted x dollars off MSRP on each car window...
I'll try to get you some info...
