I have a 1968 camaro. It is a 4 speed trans and the headers are bottoming out. I thought about shorties, but they don't have any for manual transmission.

I could pick them up enough to where they won't hit, however, I'm afraid the oil pan will bottom out.

It's a small block chevy and I've changed front springs to big block.

Tires are 15 inch.

Any suggestions?

Slow down over the bumps.

How bout some pics and measurements?

I have 23.5" tall front tires and hotchkiss lowering springs. crossmember is 3 1/5" off the ground, hooker comp headers are lower than that. I've never scraped the cross, and rarely touch the collector flanges to the ground, even with 4 people aboard.

The hotchkiss springs helped a lot, they are kinda stiff.

Ive seen cheap aftermarket long tube headers do this on 1st gen f-bodies with 4speeds and auto's. I put 6cyl springs in mine with supercomps. great ride height and no header bang...
