This seems to be a highly documented mod. In this case Google (and forum) searches can be your friend.

In a nutshell it helps to increase the amount of negative camber as your suspension moves toward the upper end of it's travel. It's mainly used to counter act body roll in a corner, increasing tire contact patch and thereby increasing traction.

It involves redrilling the upper control arm mounting holes. Can you tell us a little more about the plans for your car?

It's a good mod, but you have to trim the top of your frame bracket to allow the upper A arm to clear. If you add tubular upper A arms you don't have to trim the bracket, and the arms allow much more positive caster which helps handling and tracking down the road.

Another way to go is to get taller balljoints sold by SC&C. I'd still recommend getting tubular arms, even above doing the Guldstrand mod. The extra caster really helps. But you need power steering if you increase caster due to extra steering effort.

I did the Guldstrand mod on mine and with a 13" wheel and no power steering its not too difficult to handle with 245 section width tires. Its definitely a good idea to get ps though.

Honda had 12" wheels on their early civics...they look like go carts...

i did the G mod on my Nova, and it handled pretty sweet.
of course, i also totally rebuilt the front suspension and put stiffer springs in at the same time, so i can't say how much difference it made.
but it was easy to do. i made an aluminum template just in case i ever get another car that i can do it to.
