I am interested in hearing some opinions on a gas cap that I am going to look into having made. I plan having a couple made out of an ABS plastic by a rapid prototyping company and then I will have them chromed. The reason I want to have the rapid prototyping place make them, is because I can have sharp corners (or very small corners) and have the lettering be raised more than what a mill could handle with a small dia end mill. I have 2 design ideas and was wondering what the thoughts are.... Also, there is a minimum charge of $250 for the order, so I could have 2 made for $165.00 each (not including the plating) if anyone would be interested. It wouldn't have to be the same design either, if anyone would like a cap to say something else it could be done. The backs of the cap would have stand-offs on them, so all you would have to do is drill out the stock locking mechanism and screw it to the stand-offs.

I like your idea, I have an LS motor in my 67 but.... I prefer the orginal SS cap that came stock.

Maybe I would change my mind if I see the final product.
Post up some pics when you get it finished.

I'd be more proud that you have a first gen Camaro then that is has an LS1 in it. If it were me, I'd stay away from the LS1 on the gas cap - just my opinion though. I think the cap borders on looking "cheesy" and would look a lot better with just SS or also consider the other ones that have been posted in similar threads that I think are respectable looking mods. Of course it's all about what you want but that's my .02.
