Hi guys!

Im looking at Camaro ownership :hurray: but I have some questions....

Firstly, can you guys/girls tell if that is a Z28? What features make it the Z28 model? I've tried searching for answers but there seems to be so many changes/revisions with the 3rd gen camaro im a bit lost.

Oh and finally how does that one look? Any thing to look out for particularly?

on a 3rd gen, can't you just run the VIN? but I was aware a Z28 would be a 6 banger... :noway:

Thanks Buck but being the nanny state the UK is, we're lucky if we can check if its finance clear, nevermind running the vin :mad:.

So I take it 3gen Z28's are V8's only and didnt come with the LB8?

LB8? I never heard of that....LB9? yes...305 L89? yes...H.O. 350

Pretty sure this car is not a z....

Erm... its a 2.8l according to the ad. Its also a 1987. That made me assume it was a LB8?? So I take it from what your saying there's no way this can be the Z28 as its not a V8 LB9? :confused:

So with my (very) limited camaro knowledge, this means it can only be a Sports Coupe or a Berlinetta? Can anyone tell which one from the ebay advert link I posted? :D

LOL! Well I had another look at the advert and lo and behold:

hi all its me again.....sorry folks!!!! there's been a slight error, on me mates behalf the camero is not i repeat is not a z28 as stated in ad (thankyou to a fellow ebayer for bringing this to my attention) and its year is a 1989 and not 1987 as stated in ad. ------ Not anyone here by any chance?? :D

Well that makes me feel slightly less confident about becoming a camaro owner, the "mate" who has been supposedly restoring other camaro's managed to get both the model and year wrong :thumbsup:

Any takers on Sports Coupe vs Berlinetta? :D

regular ol Cpe Camaro
Look for an 87-90 with an L98(350)...theyre still worth the money and pretty quick stock...If you want a standard(5spd), youll have to settle for a LB9(305). IIRC, its only about 15-20HP diff between the two...

If its a 1989 would it be the RS then?

I think 2.8l v6 is my max though. Remember, fuel here is about $9 per gallon :D
