Are the Vortec Flexplates externally balanced ??? Thanks for your help..alan

I'm not sure if the vortec was made before the 1 piece rear main seal was introduced. If it's a 1 piece rear main seal, then yes, there is a weight on the flexplate. The 1 piece rear main seal also has a different bolt circle than the 2 piece, so you can't mix them up.
