I am considering going to EFI, I have been researching for a little while but still have a couple questions on parts, systems, etc. Currently, I have a 468 BBC, Procharged F1R and 50/50 meth/water injection. I also am currently running the MSD 6BTM, and it has been a chore to say the least to try to tune this thing so I can drive it and enjoy it. I have been looking to change away from the 6BTM and maybe go to the Digital 7 # 7531 from MSD as well which is close to $1000 or sell my CSU prepped 850, MSD 6BTM, intake and dist and buy an EFI setup.

I see complete kits out there, but from I can tell if I bought a kit I would more than likely be changing the injectors to larger ones, is that accurate?

Would an aluminum fuel cell work? I am running the Aeromotive pump, filters, boost referenced regulator and have supply and return lines already ran. I see and have read alot of people go to the RockValley tank or similar with internal fuel pump, why?

Depending on who you buy a kit from, they may let you specify the size injectors you want.

I'm using a Rock Valley tank with intank pump because my car is a driver and the intank pump is quieter and more reliable. And I wanted something that'd bolt in to the factory location and last damn near forever. The 255lph Walbro in mine is more than adequate for my mild LS1. You probably need something bigger.

I'd go with a computer that can do both fuel and spark so you don't have to keep switching programs (and cables?) when you are trying to tune.

There are no real "kits" made to suit your needs. By kit I mean something like a Holley or Edelbrock that gives you everything of the same brand from one supplier. You will need a "package" from someone that puts together a combination of working components to suit your needs. Like your good freinds at GPSuperStore.com

The internal pump like a Rock valley or Rick's tank) is just cleaner packaging. One less thing to mount, and it looks better then a pump hanging under the tank. Your boost reference pump and regulator set up are designed for 7LB to 17LB ???? operation right now, you will need a different regulator for 45LB to 55LB operation


As most of the "manufacturers kits" are a bit prehistoric in their software and tuning capabilities (RE: not really set up for forced induction). I would suggest either a Accel DFI or FAST XFI management system for you set up. We would probably combine this with a Holley intake / fuel rail / T Body , some proper size injectors for your application, Do you a custom start up program, and make you a nice package
