Looking for some help.

Just had my a/c filled - schader valves were leaking.

A/c ran fine for a few days, real cold. Tonight heard heavy hissing dirctly from compressor after driving and car off?

Noticed green dye around the clutch on compressor where hissing was coming from? When I moved the clutch with my hand, got better than worse.

I am assuming the compressor is shot and I lost all the freon?

thoughts?

thanks
JL

Yep and AC shop can do it easily. No need to R&R compressor.
No need to buy a repainted compressor from a parts strore either.

Anybody know if subbing R134 (vs R12) will kill this seal quickly? I've read it will kill o-rings and other components if not converted

No the seals nor the o-rings will be harmed with R134a.
They will seep slightly more, but an ounce or two a year vs 1/2 oz for R12 is minimal.
