View Full Version : Project Update .... again
PROZ11 Aug 13th, 07, 10:03 AM I've been busy on my car and have most of the body parts done now. I just have to install the rocker trim, wheel well trim and the fender emblems and it will be pretty much done as far as the body goes. I still have to get the orange pinstripes done too. I also have to install the hood, but that will be the last thing that goes on the car. The nose still needs some tweaking first. It's going in for carpets in a few weeks. Then I just have to install the rest of the interior and it will be pretty much done. I still have to get the convertible top and moldings installed, but that will not be done until sometime in the fall or over the winter.
The pictures aren't the best. I just pulled it out in front of my driveway and snapped a few shots.
I just installed the rear wing. It seems to be the thing people who have seen the car comment about the most. People either hate it or love it. The wife hates it, but then again, she hates the whole car. Usually the things she hates, everyone else likes. I think it kinda fits the "theme" of the car. What do you guys think? I have a few other pictures of the wing, but you can get the idea from these.

I was thinking about doing a poll, but, I think for better or worse the wing is gonna stay for the time being. Maybe down the road, in a year or so, I will go back to the "regular" spoiler.

Hi Mark ,long time good to see your car ,looks fabulous ,I am visualizing it with the stock spoiler ,I am kinda (if your doing a poll) parcel to the stock unit so vote me stock ..again very nice :beers:for you and Happy Motoring
BERRY251 Aug 13th, 07, 11:53 AM Yes, vote me stock as well, nice car but I prefer the stock look as it is a little much!
impzilla Aug 13th, 07, 03:33 PM Mean looking ride.
The spoiler matches the car. You have a pretty extreme front so why not go a little crazy on the back. Crazy in a good kinda way, of course.
Would not work on my car but its cool on yours.

I agree that this spoiler wouldn't work on most Camaros. But I think it works real well on a Pro Street Camaro. Here's a few more pictures of the spioler a little closer up.

DougP Aug 14th, 07, 10:15 AM I'm not a big fan of rear wings on street cars, but it does look good on yours
GMJoe Aug 14th, 07, 02:53 PM Id vote for the stock type spoiler but i wonder what she would look like painted to match your car?

A few people have suggested that I paint it to match the car and stripes. I'm not sure how that would look. I may do it in white and orange vinyl to see how it looks. If it looks good I may paint it.
BelAirBob Aug 14th, 07, 08:19 PM That car looks so smooth otherwise...I'd say paint that bad-boy. It'd be different and look good to boot...., kind of like a Z11 Pro Streeter or something! :clonk:
RickD Aug 15th, 07, 06:13 AM I love it! I would probably paint the spoiler to match the car but it doesn't look bad as is.
Can you post a pic of the back 'seat' area? My rollbar is similiar and I'm undecided on how to finish. Although my motor is new, I see your's as my next step?
PROZ11 Aug 15th, 07, 07:50 AM Hey Rick,
This is the only picture of the rear seat(?) area I have handy. I can take more if you need to see some. I don't know if this picture will help you or not. I have an S & W rear clip in the car. This rear clip has that large hump area you see in the pictures. (The mufflers are hiding under that area). That area is covered in FatMat now and will be covered in carpet next week.

As far as the spoiler goes. I may end up painting it. I'll have to think it over. No rush. I don't have a problem wit the way it looks now.
.
RickD Aug 15th, 07, 08:46 AM Great, thanks!
