Guys:

I am hoping I can get some help from a member or two in North Carolina. I bought a 540 motor from T&L Engines in Stanfield, NC. I went there for the dyno test and she is a beauty and a beast. 540 cu in Dart block with alum. heads. The block is painted Cadillac/Ford blue metallic with a March Performance package on the front. I have been told it is in the crate on thier dock.

I paid for the balance of the motor back on July 8th and they were supposed to ship the motor that week. They still have not shipped the motor and I am having serious trouble contacting them. I have a lot of money in this motor.

I am hoping someone in the area can stop by there and "ask" them in a serious way to 1.) See the motor, and 2.) have them ship my motor. Maybe even stay or go back to verify the shipment? The engine number is #1560 and they have the address to ship to. I can give that to you if you need it. Even better if you are a law enforcement person and carry the weight of the badge. I am very worried about this lack of communication.

I can be contacted here by PM or my home email is listed in my profile.

Thanks in advance ofor any help. I will be glad to cover any expenses that anyone has in going out there. Here is a link to T&L Engines and their address is at the bottom of the home page. http://www.tandlengines.com/ They are not answering the phone but I know they are there as the night ring kicks on after 5:00.

I will post this over at Team Chevelle too.

Thanks

Mark

Jim:

Thanks for asking. Got your PM too. The answer is sort of but, unfortunately, no. I did find a contact who gave me the email address of a guy who works at T&L Engine Development so I was able to email that guy and he said he would get wihth his boos man and apparently he did. because I finally heard from Lloyd on Wednesday and he claimed they will ship the motor Thursday. However, I haven't heard from him since then with the pro number for tracking the shipment.

He says they ran into the motor on the loading dock and damaged the power steering pump and oil pan and had to replace them. I didn't bother to point out to him that if it hadn't sat on the dock for a month and a half they wouldn't have had the chance to run into it with the tow motor. He did tell me they put it back on the dyno to make sure the motor wasn't hurt and it all checked out.

Lloyd was also suprised that I was able to track down someone who works in his shop. http://www.chevelles.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif Small world with the internet isn't it? You just can't beat Team Camaro and Team Chevelle. http://www.chevelles.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

I called Thursday afternoon, Friday and Saturday and no one picks up the phone at their shop. I will try again Monday. This is really a shame because they build a good motor and are good to talk with when you can finally get them on the phone.

I just hope: 1.) I get my motor and 2.) I get it soon as the Chevell was painted this week and will be ready for reassembly in another two weeks or so.

If anyone is in that area I would really appreciate it if you could run on by there to put a bug in their ear about shipping the motor. I'd be glad to pick up any expenses and add a dinner for anyone who can get by there and see what is going on with the motor.

Thanks

Mark

Update (sort of). Five more calls to the place today and an email yesterday to each of two people that work in the shop. No response from anyone. I put in a call to my credit card company and they will start the dispute process though I am not sure how effective that will be it couldn't hurt at this point could it?

Jim, I PM'd you this evening.

Thanks

Update!! I received a pro number for the shipping today and the motor is on it's way!!! Yaaahooo :hurray: :beers:. It will be delivered Thursday. I also had a long conversation with Jim (Ragtopman) on the phone this evening. Good guy just like we all hear all the time about the TC guys. Fortunately he didn't have to make the road trip and I am very appreciative of the fact that he was willing to do this.

Thanks to all for letting me rant a little and thanks to Jim for offering to go up there and check on the motor. I guess all's well that ends well. The proof will be when that engine is finally in the car and driving. Can't wait to burn some tires off. :D :D :D
