I'm about to shoot the color on my 67 Coupe. I'm using a b/c paint from PPG and am wondering how much paint and clear it will take to paint the car?

Car is currently ready for sealer and color/clear. Door jams must be painted as well as the inside of hood, trunk lid, doors etc. This is a total, down-to-metal, color change job. Also, I was under the impression that I could use DPLF-50 or one of the DPLF primers as a sealer. If so, which would be best to put under the yellow. I think the yellow is from a 2001 Saturn. You might not need the whole gal. of base, it's good to have about a pint left in case of a touch up down the road, but definately use a gallon of clear. JD Austin Mar 23rd, 01, 06:54 PM I would go with white for sealer under yellow, your color will be more "true". You will more than likely need more coats for coverage with yellow also, so more basecoat will be needed. I would get a gallon to be safe (which when reduced will be about 2 gal. sprayable, depending on which paint line). Austin | ||
