25 to run the '57 Chevy scheme at MIS: This weekend Casey Mears' #25 National Guard/GMAC Chevy will feature a special paint scheme to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1957 Chevrolet, one of the most recognizable cars in American motoring history. The scheme will include decals replicating the iconic 1957 car design. In addition to the '57 Chevy paint scheme, Mears #25 Chevy will also recognize Sundance Chevrolet of Grand Ledge, Mich., on its deck lid this weekend. As a co-primary sponsor on the #25 Chevy, GMAC recognizes outstanding GM dealerships throughout the NASCAR season.(Hendrick Motorsports PR), approx 10-12 Chevy's are scheduled to run the '57 Scheme

Wouldn't it be nice if the last two in existence Black Widow's took some laps?

Maybe there's nobody old enough to remember, or if they are old enough, they forgot!

I'm not old enough to remember, but we will get a closer look this weekend. My wife and I will be camping on the infield this year Thursday to Monday. Should be a good time! :beers:

I think the idea is to commemorate the street version of the '57 Chevy, not the ones that were on the race track.

Looks a bit silly to me.

Yes, I do see the cars are from the store, not necessarily being raced. My mistake.

But still, gotta admit, it would be neat to see the Black Widow's.

Smokey Yunick ran a 57 Chevy and helped Chevy make a high performance manual that was sold to help people build their race car .
This was before Chevy top brass came out with a ban on direct factory racing support in 1957.
