Around side streets it runs around 190 but in stop & go traffic it climbs to 200-210, and last Monday in 90 degree weather stuck for an hour in Boston traffic it got to 230. Normal??????????????

Thanks

try a cooler stat...also an air dam under the rad support...a good fan clutch is important too...i changed my post cuz its late, and i must`ve read something extra into your post...sorry for that...

My old 89 vette used to sit at 230 with the ac on in traffic - it was a little freaky - waiting for it go "boom." My 468 runs 190-210 in the TX heat. So 200 - 210 is normal - Based on your setup either run the biggest mechanical fan and shroud you can or make sure you have the correct clutch fan and heavy duty thermal clutch - and shroud... Air flow at Idle is your issue, especially if it cools down when you start moving..... you should have at least a 13lb rad cap as well - it'll keep it from boiling over... what's your setup?
