I have an Accel dual point distributor from a 60's Corvette (mechanical tach drive) that I would like to convert to Electronic Ignition. Because of the tach drive I need to keep this housing, but want to get rid of the points. I found an Accel conversion kit for 57-74 GM's, but can't figure out if it is compatible with their own distributor. Spent an hour on the web looking without success.
Anyone have experience or advice on this? Thanks!

What kind of electronic conversion are you considering? Most aftermarket distributors use OEM compatible parts.
From the Accel catalog:
BILLET REPLACEMENT POINTS DISTRIBUTORS
• CNC-machined billet 6061 T-6 aircraft grade aluminum housing
• Precision centerless ground shaft with a 4 micron finish
• Easily adjustable high performance mechanical advance mechanism,
factory dialed-in high performance ignition curve starting at 1,200
RPM with 24 degrees crank of advance at 3,000 RPM
• Easily adjustable vacuum advance, factory dialed in for 10 degrees
crank of advance at 10 inches of vacuum
• High performance 32oz Point and Condenser Kit
• High Performance 60 kV tan cap and balanced rotor with brass
or copper inserts
• Normal tune-up items are OE configuration parts for ease
of replacement

Hmmm, I guess that would suggest that their own conversion kit might work. The problem is that this distributor is likely old, though was still brand new when I bought it. I guess I can pull it and take it down the road to a local speed shop and see if it matches up. Not ideal, but it would save me from buying online and blowing it.

You could ask Accel directly on their tech page:
