i have a 275/60/15 on a 15x8 wheel with no rubbing, but to me this is just to big of a tire i think, im geared 3:55 with a 4 speed and it still kinda has a low bottom end, and im thinking its because the 28" tall tire...im thinking of going to a 245/60 or a 255/60 or maybe even try a 275/50 ?
any idea how much more bottom end i could pick up on going down a inch or 2
Thanks

Josh,

I have 4.11 gears. I have a P235/60/R15 which is a 26.10" tall tire. I need more top end but I can empathize with your situation.

Try this tire size calculator http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp
and then this RPM calculator. Plug in your numbers on the BOTTOM box. http://www.csgnetwork.com/multirpmcalc.html

With P245/60R15 you should be fine. Just my 2 cents.

Use----------

MPH = (rpm x inches tire dia.)/(rearend gear ratio x 336)...

i meant like, would i feel a difference in power, not like speedometer and rppm change...just like if i went from a 28" tire to a 26" tire, if i could feel a difference in taking off

Yes!!

Your car will act like you dropped down a gear!

Like from 3.07's to 3.31's or whatever you have to one size lower!!

And this usually causes traction problems..
