Deep pan only helps a little on the cooling, it is mostly for added capacity. Cooling issues are addressed with an oil cooler which can be mounted anywhere with a separate fan.

Alan,
I sell a similar pan. Deep cast aluminum with fins and drain plug.
They work well. Very rigid and one customer reported a 10-15* drop in temps on a TH350 in a Malibu.

I only sell the one pan for a TH350, there isn't an option for 2 or 3 qt additional. I think it is about 2.5 qts additional. I haven't measure it vs a stock pan. It is about as deep as I would want to run on most cars though.
I sell the pan with a filter, fiber gasket, hardware, and extension for about what the mail order places get for just the pan and hardware.
