I just finished painting a set of 70-74 Z28 wheels, I used DP50LF epoxy primer on the entire wheel and the used PPG Duracryl laquer for the dark grey on the spokes. The wheels had been sandblasted and after painting we decided they had to much texture, so we knocked it down with scotch brite and 1000 grit, in a few places it is back to bare metal. My question is will it be safe to re prime with epoxy primer over the laquer, or should I just respray with laquer, the spots that are bare metal are just where the sandblasting left a course finish.
