The throttle on my 68 started sticking open at about 2,500 rpm and when it does the transmission also grinds. It just started and is getting worse quickly. It will usually kick down like the choke is stuck and I will check this but why the transmission grind? I know this is definitely not a safe condition.

The motor mounts are fine and the cables all seem to be right. Any ideas what could be causing this? This obviously needs to be fixed right away.
