Does anybody know if there is a way to replace the hatch motor assy with a normal latch, the electric assy is all great and fine when it works, would rather have dependability

I have the same rear latch problem, got stuck on the other day, wasn't latching. Now, doesn't start and can't latch rear hatch Do you think it burnt out the motor, blew a fuse? Would I be better off just taking out the motor?
