Does anybody know if there is a way to replace the hatch motor assy with a normal latch, the electric assy is all great and fine when it works, would rather have dependability

i had that problem years ago. i ran the motor almost all the way down then unplugged it. worked fine for me.

when you say ran the motor all the way down?, my motor runs but won't pull
the hatch down and continues to run

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie, so please forgive stupid questions.... I have the same rear latch problem, got stuck on the other day, wasn't latching. Now, doesn't start and can't latch rear hatch Do you think it burnt out the motor, blew a fuse? Would I be better off just taking out the motor? Car is a 92 RS Thanks in advance, Jeff

you can get your hatch pulldown motor replaced.
