I know of a 69 Z28 that I would like to offer the owner and see if he"ll sell. The car is #'s matching as far as I know. The car is completely stripped down to bare shell and has been like that for a couple of years. Car was blasted and primed. Needs most major body parts(quarters, floor, fenders etc). Full restoration was started but I think the owner just doesn't have the funds to do it. What would be a fair offer for a Z before restoration.

Check this one out. It may not need as much sheetmetal, but a gauge to use. Z/28s can need a lot of body parts replaced and still have a high purchase price. Maybe $12 - 17K, depending how many "numbers" parts are there. It could cost you $20K for a good paint job and body work.

Rather than dreaming up an offer on your own, why not stop by and talk to him about the car and get a "feel" for whether or not he would be interested in selling. If you sence that he might be, let him know the effort you would put into restoring the car and then ask him if you could buy it and if so, for how much. That way you don't insult him with an offer he was not expecting and you might even get a better price than what you would have dreamed up. Best, Charlie 69 RS
