There's some wheels and tires for sale in the classified here. Will an 18"x10" wheel 5" BS with 265/35/18 tires fit a 69 Camaro with Hotchkis TVS lowered springs?

With only 5" of backspace I doubt it. Do a search - with 9.5" wide wheels everybody uses 5.5" of backspace. You're going 10" wide - another 1/2" wider and using a 1/2" less backspace. That's going the wrong way. You will be against the outside wheel lip. 10s are a tough fit to start with. In most cases they require lip triming or rolling and flattening of the inner wheel well. Somewhere a while back there was a picture of I believe a blue '69 with 10s and a 5' backpace and the fender was sitting on top of the tire. I realize the tire is only a 265 and most people use a 275 but that's not enough to make up the difference. Now don't get me wrong all these cars are a little different and they may have worked for somebody. The rear could have been narrowed slightly or the fenders were massaged or maybe the car was high enough they just stuck out. In my opinion 5" backspace is not the ideal set up and I would say to pass.

Thank you, I was afraid that would be the case with my 69,not enough room. Thats the trouble with the internet you can't try them on.

My 69 has 18x8 front 225/40/18 18x10 rear 275/35/18 B.F. Goodrich
K.D.W. tires. Hotchkis lowering springs With Q.A. 1 shocks . Its also has
brand new quarters. I now have 375 miles & I have no rub issues front or
back. The front has Heidts 2" drop spindles with Q.A.1 coil overs. It is very tight bit like I said not 1 rub issue.

Most people feel there is a little more room with repro 1/4s on a '69 since the the side vent area is a little more "generous" so to speak than the factory 1/4s. My car has original sheet metal and I can tell you this NO WAY a 10 with a 275 will fit. I think I would have a tough time with a 9.5 with a 275. I'm not trying to contradict you - just offereing an explanation as to why you were able to fit the 10 with no issues.

No contradiction felt. Thats why I noted new quarters in my post.

There are several members with 10" wide rear wheels on oem sheet metal first gens (and lowered).

You usually need custom backspacing (higher end wheels) and you must roll the lips.

I am running 18x10's on the back of my 69 without tubs. Tires are 275/40/18's. The bs is 5.75" and its a VERY tight fit both inside and out. My quarter lips are trimmed as well.

Thank You everyone for your input. I will be waiting to get my car together before getting any wheels and tires. It seems there is alot of difference between cars. Thanks again to everyone who replied.
