I found the leak on my muncie.. I attached a pic of the area. It is on the drivers side tailshaft(directly opposite the speedo), behind the shifter plate. It looks like there is 2 holes for bolts or ? and the front one is spewing fluid..

Can someone tell me what this is and what should be in the hole to keep it from leaking??

Looks like the shift linkage bosses, unused in your application.
Always thought those were blind holes tho?

you got a autogear tail housing on the tail. and your shifter bolts to cross member.autogear housings got holes all way through to inside.bolts to seal the holes wont fit in there cause they would hit shifter and cause vibration.auto gear didnt have answer as of yesterday. i plan of draining tranny and put in high temp silicone in holes let sit for couple days and fill tranny up.

Any idea what size these holes are? I would think I should be able to get a flush mounting allen head bolt (Set scew type) to fill the hole...

Where these autogear tailshafts set up for a side mount shifter and thats where these holes are from?

Thanks Everett.. Thats what i needed..I picked them up today (3/16 -16 setscrews) that I think will fill the hole an not have any clearance issues..

You're welcome. Put some gasket sealer on the threads after cleaning the internal threads with BraKleen.

I may be misunderstanding, what is to prevent the setscrew from vibrating IN?

Can you get in there with a pin punch and booger a lower thread so it can't get all the way through? And loctite it?
