: 69 well optioned
Gobow Aug 30th, 07, 10:30 PM I just found a 69 LOS camaro with some pretty cool options and am wondering if they are rare and if its worth the asking price... Of course its a non x-code car however the owner found the dealer reciept and protecto plate in the glove box. The car has been under a tarp for 25 years and needs a complete ground up. The owner of the car is the second owner and has had the car since 1973. Its a burntish brown car with black vinyl roof and black 712 custom interior with a fold down rear seat. Although its a standard 350 v8 car it was ordered with z28 bumpers and has a numbers matching 12 bolt rearend, front disc brakes and factory air. The car is going to need some rust repair on the rear fill panel but the floors and trunk are in great shape. The factory original drivetrain is in-tact and untouched. The owner posted the car for sale for 6k "willing to bargin" and by the time I got ahold of him he had recieved about 2 dozen calls and the price was now 7800.
What do you think???
parkbrau Aug 30th, 07, 11:48 PM Buy it if you can. If you have the cash in hand go over there right now. Dont wait to long, because someone else will do exactly that. Go now.
KevinK7 Aug 31st, 07, 06:37 AM ...I wouldn't waste any time, ...get over there with cash and be ready to buy it.
ChevyThunder Aug 31st, 07, 09:36 AM The question on everyone's mind is....WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR ?!!!:boring:

angelglo Aug 31st, 07, 06:26 PM well, did you get the car?
Gobow Aug 31st, 07, 10:17 PM went and saw the car today.... pretty ruff and his price continued to rise... I guess I was a little to late. My quesitons how rare is the custom interior with a fold down rear seat.... I've seen quit a few 69's and have not seen those 2 options together. My guess is that this car is a bargin at 7-8k and not a great deal for much more unless the following (documented) options are rare.
burtish brown exterior with custom interior fold down rear seat
standard 350 with turbo 400 / column shift and 12bolt rear end / multi leaf
z28 rear bumper
a/c
front disc brakes
68 Ragtop Aug 31st, 07, 11:14 PM 350 is not standard, it was an option.
With a 12 bolt it could be an LM1 or SS 350
What is the motor code on the front pad and POP?
Interior options are nice, but do not add big bucks like number matching and documented performance options.
Gobow Sep 1st, 07, 08:15 AM I thought the LM1 option was ended in late 68? This car is a May 69 car. It has a column shift was that even an option on the ss 350? does not have hockey strip or ss hood and the car is untouched since new.
Jonesy Sep 1st, 07, 08:55 AM What does the POP say? It has the engine code on it. This may require more homework and uit may be worth pating more for it. Take a digital camera with you and get us some pics. If it's not rusted through, it could be worth more than $10K.

LM1 350 started in the 69 model year and at some point dropped and replaced by the L65 350. Either way it was optional. Get the motor code from the pad or POP.
SS came with 3 spd manual on the floor, but auto was optional. I suppose if you ordered an ss with auto and no console, it came on the column, but not positive with the 69's.
What trans is in the car, 2 speed or 3 speed automatic on the column?
ChevyThunder Sep 1st, 07, 10:36 AM standard 350 with turbo 400 / column shift and 12bolt rear end / multi leaf
z28 rear bumper
a/c
front disc brakes
I beleive only a BB car could have a t 400 ... coupld be a t 350 though
68 Ragtop Sep 1st, 07, 12:18 PM Here are the 69 small block codes from CRG:

ChevyThunder Sep 1st, 07, 10:12 PM Well I talked to this guy before this post even showed up but did not want to post the link because I wanted the poster to have a fair chance at the car . The guy bought the car when it was 7 or so years old with almost 100k on it from a 40+ year old woman so he has owned it a long time. He told me someone called him specifically to tell him " what he has" . Still has the original drive train missing he heads and intake, original spare and jack.... vinyl top is off the car but it is original paint and the nubs are still there for the trim..... but a bunch of people have looked at it and last I knew it was still for sale sooooo. Ever been to Santa's Village ? That's where she is at :) I bet the build sheet is still there and he does have the POP... but if that car has rust and it starts to get near 10k and is not a running car.... I don,t know guys. I guess the docs are nice and a column shift is rare.... does nothing for me though
