I just acquired a 69 rust free rolling chassis. The car was already base coated yellow when I got it, even on the underside. There was some sheet metal covering the firewall when I bought the car. The previous owner had plans to do a smooth look to the firewall I guess. At any rate, after I pulled the sheet metal away from the firewall {it was double-sided taped not welded or rivoted} I discovered it was a x11 code car. Paint code 65 65 (Olympic Gold w/standard interior. For value and possible re-sale reasons, what are the opinions on the best route to take? All opinions welcome. Thanks.

If it's not a Z/28, SS or COPO, it will not really effect the value of the car if you paint it a different color then what it originally left the factory with. Build the car the way you would like it to be and enjoy the hell out of it!

Yea, is there any other way to tell if it were an SS car without the original eng/trans? There is a 10 bolt under it but I haven't checked the numbers on it yet.

If it is the original rear end, it is not an SS as they all came with 12 bolts. Other things to quickly note - all SS cars came with front disk brakes and multi-leaf rear ends. Paint that baby DT and put a sweet set of wheels on her!
