Recently on e-bay there was an air cleaner assembly for sale for a 327 four barrel from 1967 (or so they say). It was an all black base with chrome lid.

Is this correct? I thought all 327/275 horse applicaitons were the simple all black air cleaner housing?

I think you are correct. All the 67 327/275 air cleaners I've seen were black lid, with black snorkel base. I think the chrome lid was for the SS 350, since the SS option probably included "bright engine accents". Correct?

My 67 RS 4 barrel has a black lid. My neighbors 67 Chevelle SS has a chrome lid. If that helps.

Peace is correct, the 17" chrome air cleaner lid is for the SS engine accent trim. But I do believe the body is the same.
