View Full Version : Left Coast Run to Portland in 2008?

So ever since Mark and Dan left San Mateo I've had this idea that we should continue the West Coast fun every year. Since I love Portland, I thought I would throw it out there and see who else might be interested in a Run to Portland.

I've had some rudimentary thoughts on the idea...

1) Last Spring or Early Summer 2008
2) Get a Group Together and try for a) an open track day at PIR, b) an Auto-x event, c) test n tune at PIR drag strip or d) find a car show to attend. (my preference is a before b before c, etc!)
3) I'd like to spend two days driving up. Two or three days in Portland and two or three days driving the scenic route home

I'm tired of the West Coast not having any Pour Tour type event so in the back of my mind I think we could start something here and see where we could take it.

Post up if you'd be interested, if you have any thoughts or suggestions and let's make this happen! :beers:

I saw it Mike. I'm just not sure I want to make that long haul with my 3yo son. Portland will be a stretch.
Portland can be done in a week. Yellowstone is going to take several more days. I have a vacation shortage.

No one else is interested?

Come on out Steve! As Dennis suggested, have the wife and boy fly out!
This will be a 2 week run, at least for some of us.

I was born in Portland and have not seen the place since I was 2 years old. I might think about it.

Portland looks to be only about 300 miles less than Jackson Hole. 2 days less is all.

I think, depending on the date....I'm in, to where ever...but I might not make the trip in the 69...I'll take the 04 Silverado instead...:)

I love Portland and have relatives there I could see. My car should be done in the next few months and so I am very interested. Keep me posted here.

Hey everyone, coming from Seattle, I would definately be interested in meeting up with all of you somewhere on the west coast or even somewhere "out west"! Portland is a nice city, although I'm not really sure what there is to do there. Sixty miles further to the west there are a couple of quoint towns on the coast. Let's keep the ideas coming. Charlie

ps: The Pacific Northwest Camaro Club (pnwcc.com) sponsors the "All Chevy & Camaro Show" in Issaquah, Washington each year during the month of July in case anyone is interested.

Yeah, but I don't drive my car in the rain. I'll tell you, a bunch of 1st gens heading to the coast would be a real sight around here for folks. It would make the news.

No kidding. I can't remember the last time I saw a first gen on the road around here, except for mine yesterday.

Nope, but I heard about it. I'm an east-sider, but work in Beaverton.
