Ok, so I straight piped my camaro, I sat inside and revved it up so I could hear the change in tone. However, while I was revving it, my buddy yelled at me to stop because of my belts. I got out and looked, one was wrapped around the fan, the other was shredded to pieces. Never had this problem until I took the muffler off. Help?

I remember you. You have a 400 engine.

The fan belt flingin is coincidence.

But it may be due to pulley misalignment from when whoever installed your 400 swapped pulleys from the original engine.

Install new belts. Stand at the side and eyeball if they are straight. Let us know
