As I recall, on my 68 all I had to do was grind the bottom off of the old posts to remove the rollers. To reinstall, I just slid in the replacement parts and peened over the ends with a hammer and punch.

I don't remember having to modify or drill anything??

Getting that detent spring back in without a compressor will be a huge PITA though. You might want to find a body shop that has a compressor, or buy one yourself.

The door hinge spring compressor can be bought through Classic Industries. Not sure of the cost though.
