I was told that you can put petroleum jelly on the tires. And any paint that gets on the tire will wipe right off with soap and water. I have not tried this but it sound like it would work. Might help somebody:yes:

Ok what are you up to now?

If your talking about painting your original rims....you really should remove the tire....so you can get to the inside of the rim as well.....

Dan, I think we created a Camaro monster. He's already ordered the new exhaust. I heard him talking about a GM572 too.

:beers::thumbsup:I painted all my rims with the tires on and it turned out great. It was a bit of a pain though. I used masking tape but the armourall I had on the tires did not help because the tape wont stick to it well. Why don't you give the jelly a try it might work.

Just a quick note to tell you what I used to paint my rallys (tires off). The parts just happened to be stuff I had built for other purposes that weren't needed any more. I started with a ball bearing assembly bought at a hardware store intended for Lazy Suzans (if you know what they are). I mounted a piece of 2x trimmed with five 1/2" wood dowel rods to match the bolt pattern. What makes this nice is that I can make it any height I need and since the wheel rotates, it really helps getting the paint on evenly and easily. Pardon the appearance as all of the wood was used for other things and the pic was taken after spraying 6 wheels (with black, silver, & clear). This made it so painless, I'm actually thinking of doing some 14" rallys I've been saving...and I really hate painting.
