Well, I guess the saying goes measure twice....cut once.......or in my case, I should have asked first....then bought, but I did the exact opposite.:o

Brand: Nexen
Model: N3000
Size: Front= 235/45/ZR17
Rear= 275/40/ZR17

The tires look really cool. They are directional so that mean no easy tire rotation. I picked em up today for a really good price from one of the local tire shops. The hardness of the tire seems pretty stiff, so I am in hopes of a lengthy amount of time on the LT-1 powerd 69. The rears will be going on a set of 8" and the fronts a set of 7" wheels. I don't have the wheels just yet, but from the looks, I will have a pretty nice footprint. The pic with the tape measure looks like it's too far to the right, but it's actually at the sidewall. So SW to SW is exactly 11" and tread (that touches the road) is exactly 9-1/2". I will re-measure when they get mounted and post back.

Has anyone else experienced this type of tire?

Thanks guys,

Joe

Must be an import you are putting them on with the wide tires going up front! :D lol...

No comments on the tire brand, I've never heard of them. Google found them for $77 each for the 275's. You'll be pushing it with the rear tires on an 8" wheel, the suggested min is 9" for 275/40's. For your fronts they recomend a 7.5" min wheel. I know others have fit the same, just don't know what the down side to it is, other than don't use them at their top speed ratings so you don't find out...

You have the front and rears reversed in your statement. I have them and so far so good. Same sizes.

Oh man, I didn't want to hear that. This set was made in Korea. Where did you hear this? Any info?

Yep, sorry, I did type that wrong.

Yeppers....it's fixed. I hope they fit the wheel cause thats what they are gonna go on regardless. I'll see what happens when I get the wheels.

Thanks,

Joe

I too have the tires but they are mounted to a 9" rim. They look real nice on them. It's a ZR rated tire and I believe the speed rating they mentioned was 160mph. I haven't driven with them yet. Car still in progress.

Heard about a tire recall from tires made in China, the name sounded something like what I heard I belive.

The rears will be going on a set of 8" and the fronts a set of 7"

This statement is not reversed.

Stewie, I wrote that part correctly, but where I put model, brand, size, ect.....I put the rear size on the front. I edited it and now it's all fixed.

Ok, I did a search on Nexus tire recalls and I can't find a darn thing. I went to the NHTSA Recall Database and the Nexen tire isin't even in the system.

Oh well, I have lots of insurance.:D:yes::yes::yes::yes:
