So I tried to use some FatMat to line my roof. It all fell off within a couple weeks. And it was on there good, but I guess it didn't hold up. So after trying the budget route, i'm gonna go for the good stuff. I'm looking into some products from Second Skin. Very highly suggested in the www.sounddeadenershowdown.com.
So I was thinking a combo of these products...
1st would be some Damplifier (http://www.secondskinaudio.com/viewproduct.php?id_product=294), then some additional form of sound deadener or heat barrier. Either the Heat Wave (http://www.secondskinaudio.com/viewproduct.php?id_product=316), which is more for heat than sound barrier, hence the name. Or they have several options of noise barriers, like Rattle Pad (http://www.secondskinaudio.com/viewproduct.php?id_product=291), Overkill (http://www.secondskinaudio.com/viewproduct.php?id_product=298), or Luxury Liner (http://www.secondskinaudio.com/viewproduct.php?id_product=314).
They all seem to have similar properties. I like the idea of it being attached with a spray adhesive. Which would take away my worries of it falling off down the road. But I don't want something that moisture can build between. I already sprayed the whole interior with Lizard Skin's Sound Control Formula. I've drivin it once with the interior bare, and I could tell a large difference in the heat/noise transfer compared to before. So far this stuff is working. Just looking for some feedback. Cause i'm wondering if doing both Damplifier & an additional sound barrier is neccesary. Sure there's the weight factor, but my car is not a race car. Probably won't see a 1/4 mile track too soon. And even if it did it would be just to see what she can do. I have my vette for fun stuff like that.
Thanks in advance!
