I had a ZZ3 crate motor , it used the same head gasket that I put on my older model 350, 10105117 gasket but I see in the GM performance books, the ZZ4 calls for a 12557236 gasket thats almost twice the thickness, .051. Felpro on the other hand does not specify engines, just SBC. Hope this helps.

Head gaskets for vortec style heads are the same as others. Just pick the thickness and type you want. Intake Gaskets for vortec style heads are different than earlier heads.

I would be careful on head gasket selection with motors using alloy heads. I just pulled my AFR heads and notice a small etching around some of the sealing surfaces. I was using GM gaskets, I am finding that either I have some corrosion or brinneling? Of which I dont know enuff about brinneling and what its suppose to look like. I always used a pre-flattened steel ring gasket. Seeing what I have now on the heads, I will lean towards the Felpro 1010 gasket that has the pre-flattened COPPER ring. Hopefully this will not get any worse. I will seal this ring with Permatex Indian head shellac or Copper Coat. Hope this information helps.
