i have a 69 with 15 x 7 steel wheels. what would be the best drag slick i can use for these. i can only get down to a 2.00 60ft time. i have stock monos and and currently running 265/50r 15 in the rear. i was looking and 26 10 15 M/T but im not sure. ive got a sbc 350 w 2400 stall at the line with 3.73 in the rear. ET is 12.8 at 108 with the street tires. how much time you guys think it would shave off my 1/4 mile time with some good traction?

I would recomend drag radials. Mickey Thompsons to be exact.

With 7 inch wide wheels, I personally wouldn't go over a 9 inch slick. Sidewall will be rolled in too much from 10 inch wide tread to a 7 inch wide rim. Tire will gain alot of ballooning at the top end, meaning grow in diameter.

Just my thoughts. Talk with a slick salesman. I'd go with a 26X9 slick. But then I'm not tire salesman either.

If an 8" wide rim would be better i have no problem buying a pair. If any one knows where i can get a plain ol' 15x8 steel wheel that would be appreciated. should i stay with a 26" diameter or try to go taller?
