Everyone be on the look out for the usual car ad that is to good to be true. This past weekend some scumbag listed a 69' Camaro excellent condition, blah, blah, etc. for $4,000 here in the Las Vegas newspaper. It had a out of state Louisiana phone #, that didn't work and this email address (atzatutzi@msn.com)
Here's a look at the news ad: CAMARO '69 V8 Excellent Condition 95,977 mi. clear title, Ext: Orange, Int: Black, 2dr, auto, 985-247-4796 $4000 atzatutzi@msn.com
I got a reply to the email today, with a picture of the $4,000 car. These idiots must only have one picture of a 69' Camaro for their scams, because I've seen these orange 69' about 8 times in the past 6 months "for sale" cheap??
Here is the response to my original email. Please moderators, to put this in the correct area, if this is incorrect, and to show me were else to report this scammer.
I'm glad that you're interested in my car. The car is street legal and accurate. It comes with all the documents needed for registration, it has a clear title and it can be registred into your name at any time. I am willing to sell it for $4000.This buy now price does include the shipping and insurance fees. I'm located in Baytown TX and the car is here as well and so this is where the car will be shipped from. I've done some research and the best and fastest way I can ship it is using Hemisphere cargo Shipping Ltd which takes between 4 to 6 days to arrive at your door (door to door handling and shipping insurance fee included). I am affiliated with Yahoo! Finance where I have a purchase protection account for $ 10,000.00. This service allows us to complete this transaction in a manner that is quick and safe for both of us. It acts as a third party between seller and buyer to insure that both parties comply to transaction requirements and provides dispute resolution and mediation between parties. Yahoo! Finance is responsible to insure that both parties comply to transaction requirements. If this is ok with you please reply with your complete name, address and shipping address in your next email and let me know if you are interested in knowing more details about this purchase so that I can open a transaction case at Yahoo! Finance and move forward with this deal.
Thank you,
Karen Davis

That orange 69 has been used (well, the pictures at least) in a few ebay scams before.

Yeah, we've gotten hit here in our area with the same email responses. The cars are either a camaro, corvette or porsche. It make you wonder how many people have fallen for this...

Same thing happening in Canada. We've a selling service, "Kijiji", same thing as your "Craig" site, and I responded to an ad for a Subaru... seemed quite a bit on the low side. Anyway, after repeated attempts on my part to contact the seller... I got that, "Send $ first, and, Oh yes, the car isn't in your part of the country.. it's on the west coast".

RIGHT! I reported them to this site, and they were going cancel any further ads from this email address... but they'll just set up another. It's epidemic these scams!
