During preassembly of my heads and intake I noticed the heads have water jackets in the front and the back. My intake only has it in the front. Do I need an intake with a water jacket in the back or can I just block this rear jacket off? If I block it off will it affect cooling those rear cylinders and how do I block it off? Heads are Dart Pro 1 230’s and the intake is a Torker 2.

Normal Chevy stuff. All chevy manifolds have no water jackets in the rear. Why are they there? My only guess is so you can bolt any head on any side at any time and it will work. You are in good shape.

actually, SOME small block chev's in the 90's have a heater hose nipple on the back passenger side of the intake.
