My drivers side door on my 69 is stuck shut something came undone and i cant get at the screws to get at the door componants i dont know if its the lock or the door handle how can i fix it its been like this since june and one of my friends sat on the door with the window down and now it wont open. Help

First of all, anyone that would sit on the door of your classic does not deserve the title of friend. At least in my book. Anyway, can't you remove the interior panel with the door closed so you can see the linkage and operate the release mechanism form the inside? That would be my course of action.

This just happened on my 69. There is a small spring that broke on my latch mechanism which is held to the door with three screws. Of course the first thing you need to do is get the door open. Get a flash light and shine it down between the door panel and outer door. Work the lock and the latch and see what's going on. You might be able to stick a long skinny screwdrive down there and work the latch. Your buddy probably sat on the door lock and broke the spring... Good luck.
